Education...
Graduating from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa, with a Bachelor of Music degree in voice and a minor in piano, John continued to grow and mature as a musician in the years to follow. Musical theatre, song and dance groups, rock bands and solo entertaining continued to round-out his performing abilities throughout his life as a young adult.
The Island Influence...
From the late 80's through the early turn of the century, John enjoyed the island life in the Florida Keys, and performed at just about every venue at some point or another, including Key West and the upper Keys. He performed at the very exclusive island resort Little Palm Island for several years, which is only accessible by boat. His island duo The "Island Boys" performed for sunset celebration for 8 years at the Key West Hilton Resort and Marina (currently the Westin). The island life certainly left its mark on John as a musician and he has an admiration for any artist that can capture the magic of the tropics in their music. Much of his own writing, as well as the cover songs he performs regularly have an island flair.
The Early Years...
As long as he can remember music defined John and is also what drives him. From a very early age John was aware God blessed with a special all encompassing voice. As a high lyric tenor, many different musical styles are within John's vocal abilities, but do not count out his lower register which is rich and powerful. Performing comes naturally to John since it has been pretty much a way of life. Many fans over the years have told him he always looks like he is having good time (and he is!). At the age of eight, John started taking lessons on the organ, but shortly thereafter he switched over piano which became the instrument of choice. Through the years, portable keyboards became more advanced, giving keyboard players such as John the ability to be very diverse in musical genre and styles. John capitalized on the new technology and has been playing keyboards for over 40 years.
Passion for the Music...
Songwriting, music technology, as well as leading the occasional worship service are just of few passions associated with John's love for music. Moreover, for almost twenty years of John's life as a professional musician he has experienced many different areas of the country and met great and friendly people. John performed in the western New York area near Buffalo, many areas of Indiana, Michigan and Ohio as well as a big portion of southern Florida.
Best Entertainment...
His musical style ranges from island to oldies, country to pop, and reggae to rock - So there is bound to be plenty of dancing. As a seasoned entertainer, John knows how to read the audience and lead any event so that it will be an enjoyable and entertaining time for all.
